Wingo has announced the launch of its direct Barranquilla (BAQ) – Aruba (AUA) route, which will begin operating on July 9, 2026 and run through January 2027. It is the only non-stop connection currently available between the capital of the Colombian Caribbean and the «happy island».
With this launch, Barranquilla becomes the fifth Colombian city with Wingo flights to Aruba, joining Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, and Bucaramanga — the latter having inaugurated its own direct route to the island on June 17.
Frequencies and operation
The route operates twice a week: Thursdays and Sundays, throughout the peak mid-year and year-end season. In total, Wingo will offer more than 18,000 seats on this corridor during the operating period.

Why Barranquilla – Aruba?
According to Jorge Jiménez, Wingo's VP of Commercial and Planning, the opening of this route reflects the growing international appeal of Barranquilla, driven by its cultural offerings, medical tourism, and the community ties between both destinations.
The demand context supports the decision: Aruba received more than 60,800 Colombian visitors in 2025, a figure presented by the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA) that confirms Colombia as one of its key source markets in the region.

Aruba stands out among Greater Caribbean destinations for its stable climate — it lies outside the hurricane belt —, its white-sand beaches like Eagle Beach and Palm Beach, and a high-standard hotel infrastructure.
