Qatar Airways has officially announced the launch of its operations to Bogotá (BOG) and Caracas (CCS). It's a milestone for the industry: the Qatari carrier will become the first Gulf airline to serve Venezuela and the first to operate direct flights from West Asia to both capitals simultaneously.
Update (July 9, 2026): as reported by the specialized account @informeaereo, Qatar Airways formally postponed the route's launch from July 22 to September 2, 2026. The itinerary and schedule have been updated from the original announcement; the current details are below.
Frequencies and aircraft
The route will continue operating with Boeing 777-200LR aircraft, known for their range and world-class cabin configuration, under flight codes QR783 and QR784.
Inaugural flight: September 2, 2026
The inaugural flight's triangular itinerary is as follows:
- QR783 — Doha (DOH) → Caracas (CCS): dep. 08:15 — arr. 16:30.
- QR783 — Caracas (CCS) → Bogotá (BOG): continuing — arr. 20:40.
- QR784 — Bogotá (BOG) → Caracas (CCS): dep. 22:25 — stop in Caracas at 03:05.
- QR784 — Caracas (CCS) → Doha (DOH): continuing — arr. 00:15 the next day.
From September 6: regular service with reversed order
Starting September 6, 2026, Qatar Airways moves to a regular triangular schedule of two weekly frequencies, but reverses the order of the stops: instead of serving Caracas before Bogotá as on the inaugural flight, the regular service will serve Bogotá before Caracas.
Destinations 15 and 16 in the Americas
These additions — the airline's 15th and 16th destinations in the Americas — let Qatar Airways tap into demand from passengers who need seamless connections to high-value markets in the Eastern Hemisphere.
According to the airline's official statement: “This expansion underscores our commitment to strengthening ties with Latin America, giving travelers from Colombia and Venezuela direct access to our network of over 160 destinations via Hamad International Airport.”

Passengers will be able to connect efficiently to key destinations such as Sydney, Shanghai, Tokyo, Beirut, Seoul, and Dubai, cutting travel times that traditionally required multiple stops in European or North American hubs.
