On June 3, 2026, LEVEL took off from Barcelona's Josep Tarradellas El Prat Airport bound for Lima's new Jorge Chávez International Airport, inaugurating the only non-stop direct flight between both cities currently available. The low-cost arm of IAG group — the same group that includes Iberia, British Airways, and Vueling — makes Lima its eighth destination and its first direct connection with Peru.
Frequencies and schedule
The route operates three times a week: Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Schedules are timed to support connections:
- Barcelona → Lima: departure 21:35 (local), arrival 19:50 (local).
- Lima → Barcelona: departure 21:35 (local), arrival 17:25 the following day.
The aircraft is an Airbus A330-200 with 311 seats across Economy and Premium Economy cabins. In total, LEVEL plans to offer approximately 80,000 seats on this route through March 2027.
The only non-stop option
Before LEVEL, travelers between Lima and Barcelona had to connect — typically through Madrid, Miami, or Bogotá. This route restores a direct link between both cities, doing so under a long-haul low-cost model that opens the corridor to a wider range of passengers. According to LEVEL, one in four passengers traveling to Lima via Barcelona comes from other cities in Spain or Europe, making Barcelona a relevant connecting hub for Peru.

LEVEL has chosen Servicios Aeroportuarios Andinos (SAASA) as its strategic ground operations partner in Lima. SAASA operates at the new Jorge Chávez International Airport terminal with an assigned area of over 6,000 m² for ramp services, passenger handling, and cargo — critical support for keeping operations on time.
PromPerú's backing
The launch of this route is the result of connectivity-promotion work led by Peru's Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) through PromPerú, which presented the flight alongside LEVEL at FITUR 2026 (the international tourism fair in Madrid). The figure that drives the effort: between January and November 2025, Peru received 130,967 Spanish tourists (+4.4% vs. 2024), with an average spend of USD 1,840 and an average stay of 15 nights — the highest-economic-impact profile among European visitors.
