LASER Airlines adds Friday and now operates four weekly flights Caracas – Bogotá

Published · 4 min read

LASER Airlines has updated its Caracas (CCS) – Bogotá (BOG) schedule: Friday is now added to the existing Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday frequencies, bringing the total to four weekly flights in each direction. The change was announced by the airline through its official channels.

Updated schedule

The route now operates on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Reference times on the route follow the operational structure the airline has built since the corridor launched:

  • Caracas → Bogotá: departure ~08:25 (local), arrival ~09:05.
  • Bogotá → Caracas: departure ~10:15 (local), arrival ~12:55.

Flights are operated on McDonnell Douglas MD-83 aircraft, configured with 12 executive-class seats and 137 economy seats.

A high-demand route from day one

LASER launched the Caracas–Bogotá corridor in June 2023, when Colombian-Venezuelan airspace reopened after years of closure. Since then, the route has sustained close to 80% occupancy, reflecting consistent demand between both capitals — driven by the Venezuelan diaspora, tourism, and commercial ties between the two countries.

Expanding to four weekly frequencies directly responds to that demand level and positions LASER as the Venezuelan carrier with the strongest presence on this corridor.

A year of expansion for LASER

The expanded Bogotá schedule comes amid an active 2026 growth year for the airline:

  • May 2026: LASER launched direct Caracas–Miami flights in partnership with US carrier Global X, becoming the first Venezuelan airline to resume that non-stop route. Daily frequency, operated on an Airbus A320.
  • March 2026: reactivated direct flights between Caracas and Santo Domingo.
  • The airline currently operates from 12 airports across 6 countries, with approximately 22 international weekly flights.

LASER's growth also fits within Venezuela's broader aviation recovery: Venezuela reached 679 weekly flights in 2026, according to Informe Aéreo data, reflecting the sector's momentum after years of contraction.

Baggage allowance on the Bogotá route

For passengers on this route, LASER's baggage policy, per the airline's published information, is as follows:

  • Economy class: 1 checked bag of 32 kg + up to 8 kg carry-on.
  • Executive class: 2 checked bags of 23 kg each + up to 8 kg carry-on.

Always verify current conditions directly with the airline before your trip, as policies may be updated.
