What it covers
Avianca is offering free air-fare relocation for travelers who already flew their outbound leg and got stranded with their Spirit return ticket. It's a temporary measure and only applies under specific conditions.
Key dates
The plan applies only to trips scheduled between May 2 and May 16, 2026. If your return falls outside that window, this option wouldn't cover you.
How to claim it
You need to show up directly at the airport the same day as your flight, or at most one day before. Seats are assigned on a first-come-first-served basis and subject to availability, so there's no guaranteed space.
Practical tips:
- Arrive at the airport with plenty of buffer time.
- Bring your Spirit return ticket and a valid passport.
- Have a plan B (another airline, alternate dates) in case there are no seats.
Things to keep in mind
Although the air fare is free, passengers must cover the mandatory taxes and administrative fees on the new ticket. Ask for the exact amount at the counter before confirming.
