Air France to launch nonstop Guadeloupe–Panama flights in December 2026

Published · 4 min read

Air France will expand its regional Caribbean network with a new nonstop service between Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe (PTP), and Panama City (PTY). The route will be seasonal and is scheduled for the Northern Hemisphere winter 2026/27 season.

The timetable filed in distribution systems and reported by aviation media places the inaugural flight on December 11, 2026. Service from Guadeloupe is scheduled through March 5, 2027, with the final return from Panama listed for March 6.

Frequency, schedule, and aircraft

Air France plans to operate two weekly flights in each direction with Airbus A320 aircraft. Published times are local and may be adjusted before the season begins:

FlightRouteDaysPlanned schedule
AF618Pointe-à-Pitre → PanamaMonday and Friday16:30 – 18:55
AF619Panama → Pointe-à-PitreTuesday and Saturday09:00 – 13:05

Accounting for the time difference between the destinations, the flight would take approximately 3 hours 25 minutes to Panama and 3 hours 5 minutes to Guadeloupe.

What does seasonal service mean?

The route is designed for peak winter demand and has not been announced as a year-round service. Any continuation beyond March 2027 will depend on the airline's commercial and operational decisions. Travelers should make sure their dates fall within the published operating period before arranging hotels, transfers, or onward connections.

A new link between the French Caribbean and Central America

The flight removes the need for a stop when traveling between Guadeloupe and Panama and connects the French Caribbean with Tocumen International Airport, one of Latin America's main connecting hubs. For travelers from Panama, it provides a nonstop option to Pointe-à-Pitre and access to other parts of Guadeloupe by local transportation.

If the trip includes an onward flight with another airline from Tocumen, confirm whether all segments are issued on a single booking, whether baggage is checked to the final destination, and how much connection time each carrier requires. The availability of flights at PTY does not automatically mean that airlines provide through-ticket protection.

Entry documents to verify

Guadeloupe is a French overseas territory. Entry requirements may differ from those for mainland France or the Schengen Area and depend on nationality, residency, and length of stay. Before purchasing, check the official requirements for your passport and any transit rules if your itinerary continues to another country.

Recommendations before booking

  • Confirm that the flight operates on your date, as the route is available only during a defined season.
  • Check the correct airports: PTP in Guadeloupe and PTY in Panama City.
  • Review baggage allowance, seat selection, and change conditions for the fare you choose.
  • If connecting at Tocumen, allow enough time and verify whether you must collect and recheck your baggage.
  • Reconfirm the schedule with Air France before traveling, as timetables may change.
